Cable grabs are used on vertical belay systems. This is a removable device that automatically travels along a 3/8” steel cable permitting a climber to use both hands while ascending or descending a vertical belay or ladder. This unit follows along with the climber and locks into place if a fall or slip occurs. The cable grab is made of stainless steel to deter rust and corrosion for use in all conditions. In some situations it may require the use of a load limiting device.
